Reflexology

Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary health therapy, based on the theory that different points on the feet, correspond with different areas of the body.

Reflexologists work holistically and alongside traditional healthcare to promote better overall health for their clients.

Reflexology is a therapy which can be received by anyone at any age, babies to those receiving end of life care. However, there may occasionally be times when it is not suitable to provide a treatment.

Some of the benefits of Reflexology are, relaxation, pain reduction, improved blood flow and overall circulation, impact on conditions such as blood pressure and asthma. It compliments traditional healthcare and offers benefits to a persons mental health, research demonstrates that reflexology can help to reduce depression and anxiety.

Treatments are also thought to ease pregnancy, delivery and post-partum effects: Pregnant women who receive reflexology are said to experience shorter labor times. In addition, reflexology showed a positive impact on  postpartum depression, anxiety, urination and bowel movements.

Cream, powder or wax is applied to the feet to facilitate movement.
